Snow shoeing

Snow Shoes are a great way to move around the mountains in winter. Normally we have too much snow to be able to walk around in normal shoes or boots easily and we need to put something bigger on our feet. On snow shoes we can easily move in snow and anyone that can walk is able to quickly learn to snow shoe.
Easy and fun snow shoeing lets you explore the mountains and can be a great activity for people who enjoy winter holidays in the mountains but that don’t want to ski each day or want to get away from the main ski area.
For short trips of a few hours good winter clothing and some comfortable boots are all you need, snow shoes and poles can be rented cheaply. Longer trips can be more comfortable with some more layered clothing as walkers in the UK winter might be familiar with.
As with any activity on snow it’s important to have good eye protection with some good sun glasses, plenty of sun cream, a hat and, of course, a camera!
