Red campion (Silene dioica)

Red campion

Red campion, Silene dioica, April-Sept, 30-90cm high

The crushed seeds of the Red Campion have been used to cure snakebites in the past, one of the names it’s also known by is the “adders flower” which probably refers to this. The petals are generally red but can vary from white to red including pink as in this case.
