Some more photo’s from the Dolomites in Italy. I’ve split the posts up a little because I’ve so many great shots from this most photogenic mountain range that I couldn’t really pick the highlights. These are mostly from a trip at the start of September where I took a few days to do some via ferrata before doing some guiding for G Adventures. I’ve posted some photo’s from some of via ferrata already.
I particularly like some of these photos as the light quality was so perfect. Autumn is on the way so the vegetation is starting to pick up some colour contour and the air’s just slightly cooler giving sharper views at distance.
I probably should have posted some photo’s of the other highlights of working in the Dolomites like the food, in fact mostly the food! The refuges produced some great meals again and on our valley night in Campitello we found a great pizzeria. While in Bolzano, our endpoint, we went to the Batzenhäusl again which is a Tyrolean style Brauhaus serving their own beer and Tyrolean-style food. It’s one of the highlights of this trip that you get this mix of traditional Italian and Tyrolean food.
This is refuge Nuvolau perched on a rocky ridge, we’d enough time to detour from our main route to have a drink up here before heading down to Cinque Torri and a tour around the WW1 installations here.
So, all in all, another great trip and a great group! I can only hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did!
