After looking at the weather forecast last Monday morning and having a rare gap in bookings, we decided to grab the chance to go to the Dolomites for a few days and headed for Cortina d’Ampezzo. I’ve been several times before for work and for some skiing but I’ve never driven there. It’s not easy for anyone to get to the Dolomites I think, when I work I use the train and it takes me around 12 hours to make the journey. In the car we reckoned it was around 8 hours passing through the north of Switzerland, through Austria and into Italy over the Brenner pass.
There’s just so much to do in the Dolomites, climbing, walking, mountain biking or just enjoying the food! We climbed some via ferrata as parts of longer days exploring the peaks and valley of the area. Some of the photo’s should give a flavour!
