This is fairly local, it’s just the other side of the Rhône valley in Champéry which is part of the Swiss Portes du Soleil ski/sport region. It’s about 30mins walk from the main car park and tops out not far from a restaurant. It’s a nice walk back into town again along a dramatic gallery. We actually climbed the route with an intermittent light shower which didn’t really make much difference being so close to the waterfalls! The route is graded K4 in my guidebook which seems about right.
The route splits into two parts, the lower part is fairly easy with a couple of wet bridges. The upper section basically crosses a vertical wall with a 3 or 4 metre section of some difficulty. In all there’s only about 500m of cable with a rise of a couple of hundred metres.
Yet another great day out from here in Leysin!
