I last did this via ferrata in 2009 so it was long overdue to go back and do it again! The mountain station of Moléson-sur-Gruyères always impresses me, they’re always able to pull in crowds with a range of activities on offer all summer or winter. Since I was last there the top lift has been replaced with a new modern higher capacity version. There are restaurants at the top, middle and bottom so we had coffee at the middle on the way up, a drink at the top and an ice-cream at the bottom.
The route itself is quite long, about 1310 m of cable and a 500m climb. There’s a charge of 4 chf to use it which pays towards the upkeep. All in all, a great day out from here in Leysin again!
