Last week we visited L’ Hospice du Grand-Saint-Bernard on skis, this was a first for Julie who’d not been before in the winter. The snow conditions have been less than ideal, but the route to the hospice is north facing and holds snow quite well. As a lot of skiers and snowshoers make the trip the route it quite packed down which mimics the piste-making that ski stations do; hard-packed snow tends to last better than loose snow.
As usual, it was a great trip with a warm welcome at the hospice with tea and soup. Probably the best day out on skis to be had for the day!
