In November I had a brief trip to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia. I was representing the Union of International Mountain Leader Associations (UIMLA) at the annual congress of the UIAA – the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation. This was a first for UIMLA as we were applying to be a member of the UIAA. I was basically there to make a presentation of UIMLA. I’m pleased to say, to my relief, our application was unanimously accepted!
It was an all to brief visit and I had little chance to explore what Mongolia has to offer. Another time!
