The cabane at Monts Chevreuils is a good round trip from Leysin, it’s about 50km and +/- 1650m which obviously depends on the exact route. The simplest is to go via Pierre du Moëllé and around Lac Hongrin assuming the road is open. There is actually charging for an e-bike at the cabane but you’ll need to bring your own charger.
Yesterday there was quite a big problem with landslides, the first was clay soil which clogged my chain and cassette so when it dried I had a rattling and dry chain. Another large landslide covered the road near Pierre du Moëllé leaving extremely deep soil and mud which was really hard to drag the bike over.
It’s a good route, the availability of charging at the cabane makes it reasonable for e-bikes although it’s practical without charging as well.
It’s still a novelty to eat on the terrace of the restaurants so that was a nice bonus.
