I’d had an idea to go and do this and been tempted to use my non-electric bike as it’s mostly downhill. But, I’ve converted that to a 1x and I’m waiting for a new chainring, the thought of 6000m of descent with the chain popping off wasn’t appealing really!
It’s easily possible to do this without a mid-ride charge for the battery, it’s about 85km, +1100m and -6000m. The lifts all take a ebikes although a couple do ask you remove the battery which is presumably because although the lift can easily take the weight the mount-point may not.
It’s a fairly long day, I left Morgins at about 09h30 and didn’t get back until around 17h00, I didn’t stop a lot really apart from a 30-40min break. But I didn’t push it and you probably knock an hour off that without much trouble.
The lifts will start to close this weekend (29 Aug 2021) so that’s a the last chance this year using the lifts.
