A couple of days before the lifts closed at Leukerbad I took advantage of the great weather and my MagicPass to ride a couple of trails that I’d seen on the map. It’s possible to link the Torrenttrail and Jeizibärg trails together. The start point I used was the valley town of Leuk taking the bus up to Leukerbad and then the cablecar to the Rinderhütte. This joins the Torrenttrail (Switzerland Mobility Trail 114) which is described as one of the country’s best single track tails. That trail crosses the Jeizibärg trail (Switzerland Mobility 117) so I turned onto that and climbed up to the summer settlement of Stafel, as the Jeizibärg headed to the valley I climbed back up the road to rejoin the Torrenttrail where I’d left it and continued that trail.
It might have the perfect day for the trail, the high slopes of the Valais facing the 4000m peaks in full autumn colours!
