EVTT – Portes de l’Hiver, Morgins

It’s hard to tell this time of year how much snow will be left at 2000m. But, taking an optimistic view I thought I’d try this route which is one of my favorites locally. It turned out there was a lot of snow in places and I probably ought to have turned around. The worst section was descending around les chalets plaine Dranse because the line I’d normally use is a piste and the packed, cannoned snow hadn’t cleared too much at all! And, it looks like that netting on the path has paid for itself 🙂

Still, it’s a great route and almost certainly best when the lifts aren’t running!
