I’m an International Mountain Leader and First aid Trainer. I left the UK in 1999 to live and work in Europe. Since 2003 we’ve lived in Switzerland. We are based in Leysin in the Swiss Alps where we also run the Epicea B&B providing accommodation for our clients. I’m a former director of the British Association of International Mountain Leaders (BAIML) and the president of the international body the Union of International Mountain Leader Associations (UIMLA). I’ve represented UIMLA to the UIAA – International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation and as a member of the avalanche commission of the International Commission for Alpine Rescue (ICAR).

From the bottom of this small gully it looks like the top is maybe blocked with snow but I thought it was worth looking anyway. There is a fairly big bit of snow at the top but it seems fairly stable and it’s possible to kick some steps and cross it. I’d imagine it’ll vanish […]
